Riverboats Music Festival 2027

The multi-award-winning Riverboats Music Festival is celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2027, returning to the banks of the Murray River on Yorta Yorta country at Echuca-Moama with another stellar line-up of top-tier
Australian and New Zealand talent. For 15 years, Riverboats has kept things refreshingly simple: one stage beneath the towering river red gums, a cracking line-up, no timetable clashes and a few thousand music fans settling in for a weekend of great music and laid-back fun.

Friday kicks things off with the ethereal Milly Strange and Naarm-based rockers Floodlights, before Australian rock legends Spiderbait take over the Riverboats stage to close out opening night.

Saturday brings a huge day of music with country icon Fanny Lumsden, as well as Kaitlin Keegan, Melbourne soul scene luminary Ella Thompson, Mulga Bore Hard Rock and legendary singer/songwriter Henry Wagons, leading into a headline set by festival favourites The Cat Empire, returning for the first time since 2014.

Sunday sees New Zealand-born, Manchester-based folk artist Nadia Reid, Claire Anne Taylor, and Frankston rock’n’roll heroes The Gnomes, followed by country great Troy Cassar-Daley, before much-loved folk trio The Waifs bring Riverboats’ 15th anniversary weekend to a close. As always, MC Brian Nankervis (Rockwiz) will be there to steer the ship across all three days.

With plenty of accommodation, pubs, restaurants and cafes within walking distance of the festival site – plus unlimited pass-outs so you can come and go as you please – Riverboats is a breezy country weekend away for the whole crew. Don’t miss it.

Inspired by the energy and culture of Europe’s leading electronic music festivals, ZURI is a new large-scale house music experience built around forward-thinking artist curation, premium production and a community connected by music, culture and discovery.

ZURI will take over Sydney’s historic White Bay Power Station on Saturday, December 19, before heading to Melbourne’s PICA on Sunday, December 20. Across both locations, each venue will be transformed into an immersive festival environment, bringing together international artists, Australian talent, cutting-edge production and a festival atmosphere designed to keep people moving from the first track to the last.

Leading the inaugural lineup are internationally acclaimed artists Mahmut Orhan (TUR), Francis Mercier (USA) and Marten Lou (GER), joined by some of Australia’s most exciting electronic talent including Maison Ware, Sophia, Kass and Rromarin, with more artists still to be announced.

Across both events, festival-goers can expect immersive stage design, festival-scale sound, lighting and visuals, food and beverage precincts, VIP experiences and exclusive festival merchandise. At the heart of ZURI is the idea of creating moments that stay with you long after the music stops. Before it’s a memory, you have to live it.

With its first edition bringing together a globally recognised lineup, Australian talent and a production-led festival experience across two major Australian cities, ZURI is set to introduce a new chapter of house music culture this summer.

100 Years of the Thornbury Theatre

The Thornbury Theatre is celebrating its 100th anniversary with an incredible night of music on Saturday October 31st. The anniversary show brings together Acopia, EXEK, Wet Kiss, Media Puzzle, Twine, Blue Communications and Supernew for a lineup that reflects the venue’s current place in Melbourne’s renowned live music scene.

Originally opened in the 1920s as a picture theatre, the building later became a ballroom and reception venue before taking on its present life as a contemporary performance space. Its ornate plasterwork and grand marble staircase remain, while locals’ memories of films and Macedonian dances inside its walls now sit alongside world class entertainment and live music. The venue that has played a rich part in Melbourne’s live music history and is still thriving, bringing local artists, touring acts and their audiences together under one roof.

Australian Artists

The Avalanches

The Avalanches have announced their return to Australian stages, with six performances across the country in February and March 2027, including a hometown show at Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne as part of the Live at the Gardens series.

For more than 25 years, the Australian group has been one of the most influential and original acts in contemporary electronic music, globally redefining what could be achieved with sampling and collage to create a body of work that has resonated around the world. Defined by a fascination with analogue records, digital experimentation and forgotten sound archives, The Avalanches continue to reassemble fragments of the past into timeless, emotionally resonant music.

Joining The Avalanches on the tour will be HAAi, the Australian-born, London-based artist whose work moves freely between club music, experimentation and left field electronic sounds.
