Mia Wray has officially released her debut album ‘hi, it’s nice to meet me’ this week, marking an exciting milestone in her career.
The album reflects an artist still exploring her identity, but it’s a final product that Mia should undeniably be proud of. hi, it’s nice to meet me is an album about relationships, hope and heartbreak.

Two of the standout qualities of the album are its pace and energy. While the lyrics could easily have made this album melancholy it deftly manages to avoid that trap, offering instead sultry, emotive vocals layered over pop-driven beats, turning what could have been a sad album into an uplifting celebration of femininity. It’s club anthems with feelings.
Highlights for me include the single Not Enough – I love the way the melodic riff and the vocals interweave – and Tell Her, which has been infectiously stuck in my head since the first listen. If you’re looking for something with a dance vibe What If is a stand out while others songs like Fake A Smile lean more into R&B territory, showing off the album’s dynamic range.
Mia’s voice is nothing short of heavenly, and the tracks are beautifully mixed to allow her vocals to shine above the energetic and lively backing beats. It’s wonderful to see homegrown talent like Mia, who was born and raised in Noosa and now calls Melbourne home, creating music that stands confidently on the global stage.
Listen to hi, it’s nice to meet me here.
