A local mainstay

Fat Bob’s is a Moorabbin stalwart, which I’m embarrassed to say we only just visited for the first time this weekend!
Fat Bob’s is a self confessed Man Cave, and its grungy dive bar feel with walls adorned with neon signs feels a million miles away from its unassuming exterior, tucked away on a Moorabbin industrial street.
The popular bar and burger joint had a lively feel when we popped in at lunch time. The dark interior helps you forgot if it’s night or day and it would be an easy spot to while away a couple of hours with burgers, beers and an ice cream sundae. It’s easy to see why this place is so popular.
The burgers

After debating for far too long, I settled on the Spartan – 180g burger patty, onion rings, bacon, cheese, BBQ sauce, it had everything I loved. It was a deliciously tasty option with toppings that were well balanced to ensure no one flavour overwhelmed the others. The burger was generously sized and juicy, so a big thumbs up from me.
Lee went for the simplex with a bacon add on. He loves a good uncomplicated burger and he said it was perfectly cooked and ate every bite. We paired both with a side of chips, which were fine, but nothing life changing. I’d definitely make a more adventurous side choice next time!
We were well looked after

Alongside the great atmosphere, staff were prompt, present and friendly. It’s not an easy feat to get great, on the ball staff at the moment and we definitely felt well looked after at Fat Bob’s. We can’t wait to go back!
