Festivals
Laneway Festival 2027
It’s possibly the most exciting week in the live music year as Laneway’s 2027 line up is announced. Headlining the festival are Irish rockers Fontaines D.C. who also announce arena shows for Adelaide and Perth – a welcome nod to the cities who are missing out on a Laneway festival this year.
With both Hayley Williams and Rachel Chinouriri already announcing conveniently timed tours the inclusion of the pop-punk icon and U.K. synth pop star should come as little surprise. Rachel’s inclusion reflects a considerable sway to dance/hyper-pop this year with Adela, Kim Petras and Slayyter filling out the line up.
It’s great to see a rising number of Australian artists making the cut too with Ninajirachi, Ecca Vandal and Daine (amongst others) all set to play the festival in February. And props have to go to Laneway for strong female and queer representation once again.

Bands From Back Home
Reytons & Casey Lowery
UK music’s biggest underdogs, indie rock juggernauts The Reytons, welcome British indie artist Casey Lowery to their upcoming Australian and New Zealand tour this November and December.
Renowned for their raucous live shows, and touted by many as the best live act of their generation, The Reytons pride themselves on their honesty and pure energy. Having taken their native UK by storm, with number one albums, sold out park shows and major festival headlines, the lads from Rotherham are taking on the world with their upcoming world tour.
Joining their seven-date run is Casey Lowery, an artist redefining what it means to build a music career in the modern era. His songwriting draws from the likes of Radiohead and early Coldplay melded with a contemporary indie-rock sound, exploring themes of love, mental health, grief, and self-discovery.

International Artists
Suzanne Ciani
Suzanne Ciani is a 5-time Grammy-nominated American composer and electronic music pioneer. This year Ciani celebrated her 80th birthday with the release of the live album CIANI/OKREST (of which only 200 limited-edition records are available in Australia) and has now announced an Australian tour of intimate collaborative shows performed in quadrophonic surround sound.
Classically trained but drawn to electronics, Ciani found the world wasn’t ready for the music she made. So she took her talents into commercials, brazenly marching into the studios of Coca-Cola and demanding to be heard. “I make sounds”, she told them, and make sounds she did, creating their iconic pop, pour, fizz sound. Ciani went on to score countless video games and commercials – her sounds were everywhere. When the world caught up, she played the biggest stages.
That was 50 years ago, and in her 7th decade, Ciani is still lighting up festival stages and symphony halls. If you think of electronic music as a pounding, penetrative beat, Ciani will make you think again. Her music is sensuous, warm, and unequivocally musical. It demands you listen to it, completely, and give yourself up to the mood she creates.
The run of shows will allow audiences to embark on an immersive, unexpected journey led by a true maverick of music and a legend in her field.

Angel and “The Over Country Tour” follow the success of McAlpine’s 2024 album Older, which received widespread critical acclaim and saw her sell out an extensive international tour, performing sold-out nights at Radio City Music Hall, LA’s Greek Theatre and venues across the world.
Born outside Philadelphia, Lizzy gained early recognition for her original songs and covers online before releasing her debut album, Give Me A Minute, in 2020.
