Red Rum Club released their latest album BUCK this week, a rocky, delightful little record.
Red Rum Club are definitely one of those underrated bands. They’re just going about it, making great music and not really blowing up in a way they deserve. BUCK is a perfect example of this. It’s Queens of the Stone Age meets early Arctic Monkeys and it’s fab.
BUCK is mixed wonderfully, allowing the flow of the lyrics to take centre stage. This lets the storytelling shine and it’s one of the things that really endeared me to this album. You can truly connect to from the very first listen. Coupled with heavy guitars throughout much of the album, it’s a high-octane record that feels both intimate and electrifying.

American Nights and English mornings is one of my favourite tracks on BUCK. I love the energy, and can definitely relate to half my brain always being in GMT. Call Me on Your Comedown is another highlight. It’s a bit of a change of pace to the rest of the album, and its dreamy pop vibe is lovely and fits the lyrics perfectly.
Overall, BUCK is a confident, cohesive record that proves Red Rum Club are more than ready for a bigger stage. If you’ve slept on them until now, this album is the perfect wake-up call. Red Rum Club aren’t just quietly great anymore—they’re loudly excellent, and it’s about time more people took notice.

About Red Rum Club
Red Rum Club is a British indie rock band from Merseyside, known for blending infectious guitar hooks with bold brass arrangements and cinematic soundscapes. Formed in 2016, the six-piece group draws influence from spaghetti westerns, surf rock, and modern indie, creating a distinctive style they dub “Tarantino pop.” With charismatic frontman Fran Doran leading the charge, their energetic live shows and anthemic songs like Eleanor and Would You Rather Be Lonely have earned them a loyal following, solidifying Red Rum Club as a standout force in the UK music scene.
