Our live and local series celebrates homegrown Aussie talent, with a focus on bands who are playing live shows in Melbourne this year.
Majak Door, from Melbourne/Naarm Australia, have an expansive sound that is probably best
described with words like dreamy and groovy while managing to create an energy that can at times be both energetic and occasionally completely laid back. They’ve played alongside numerous well known local and international acts including Modest Mouse, The Grogans and The Rions.

Influences from genres including surf rock, indie and new-wave as well as blues and psychedelic permeate throughout Majak Door’s music. In 2025, the band is continuing to record and plan for album number three following the release of their second album ‘Fantasy Camp’ in July ’24, which featured singles ‘Borderline’ and ‘Jasmine’.
The bands most recent release ‘Everybody’s Listening to the Radio Now’ is a sightly darker sounding track, though still features the dreamy elements of most previous releases. You can check them out live at their upcoming show at the Tote (tickets here) on February 7th.

You can listen to their tracks here (Soundcloud) or here (Spotify)
