Aleksiah has released her latest EP Good on Paper this week.
Good on Paper is another one of those releases I’ve watched being built from first single Punch Drunk Love back in September 2025. I was a huge fan of Aleksiah’s last EP – Cry About It so it’s great to see this new collection of tracks come together in another excellent EP.
I really like the sound Aleksiah has cultivated over the course of her career. The EP is largely a high energy pop/disco inspired record combining Aleksiah’s raw storytelling with high octane drums that really set the pace and form the backbone of most tracks. Shimmery synth layers bring the pop vibes and she has this way of making each track explode into the catchy choruses so you have no doubts what the take away or sing along moment of the tracks must be.

By honing in on the more specific elements of each track she has created space to experiment while still retaining her ‘signature’, recognisable style. Bullsh*t Baby is the perfect example. A jazzy, sultry number in many ways, it’s more musical theatre than pop music, but it’s still got that same core energy that allows it to sit alongside Aleksiah’s recent back catalogue without feeling like a huge leap.
The final song Think About It offers a more stripped back look into Aleksiah’s life. It instinctively feels like the most introspective song on the release but the reality is the whole EP dives into a lot of the insecurities of love and relationships that people often don’t talk about. The ugly bits of life that people keep hidden from their shiny Instagram feeds and public personas, exploring ideas of how being good on paper is one thing, but being good to yourself is something totally different.
My hope is that this is another stepping stone on the way to a full length album. I felt by the end I was still wanting more from Aleksiah and after several EP releases it seems like she’s ready to explore what a longer record could look like!
