I love her. I love this. Her face, her gestures, that little laugh at the end… everything!

I might post more Laneway content but this is likely to be my only Chappell Roan content. I post so much of my gig life on here, I think I need these to be just for me, but…we’ll see.

We had the pleasure of catching up with Sydney ART We had the pleasure of catching up with Sydney ARTIST MUNGMUNG to talk about her recently released EP FEI, musical inspos and our shared love of 00s hip-hop!

MUNGMUNG is one of those artists that people seem to struggle to put in a box genre wise, so I began by asking how she would describe her music:

“I wouldn’t say that I’m creating a specific genre, per se, but maybe, let’s just frame it in a way where it’s like, I love hip hop and R&B so much, and I’m contributing to that. Like with my own touch, with my own little swagaliciousness, with my own story to tell kind of thing.”

The current Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds’ tour is c The current Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds’ tour is called the Wild God tour after the bands latest album, and it’s clear that’s how Nick’s most die hard fans see him, as a kind of wild musical god.

These most loyal fans, who clearly got here much earlier than I did, stand right by the stage reaching up adoringly as he performs inches away, their faces radiant, their screams strong. Some of these people have been following this man and this band for longer than I’ve been alive. It’s powerful to watch these interactions that become almost spiritual at times...

Revisited Arctic Monkey’s Whatever People Say I Am Revisited Arctic Monkey’s Whatever People Say I Am That’s What I’m Not 20 years on.

An album that was as much about the momentum as the music, it’s widely heralded as the defining sound of indie rock music of the early 00’s. Head to our website to read the detailed post.
I’m in my Brain Again is the debut album from Slow I’m in my Brain Again is the debut album from Slowcoaching, the moniker of Melbourne-based artist Dean Valentino. Almost a decade after the release of his EP All The Same, this album, which saw its beginnings during lockdowns, has been quite a journey.

I can’t fully describe how much I enjoyed this album. It’s musically, so cohesive, thematically complex and it feels like it’s drawing you in to a world of secrets. I’d highly recommend listening.
