We loved @parissatosif deeply personal album I Hav We loved @parissatosif deeply personal album I Have This Memory of You. Straddling eastern and western sounds it combines pop influences with instruments and rhythms from Parissa’s Iranian culture to create an album that’s a unique window into her world. Telling the stories of displacement and longing for a home that’s no more, or one that never really was, it speaks to anyone who’s migrated or living across cultures. Rowdy times for @dunerats at The Corner Hotel last Rowdy times for @dunerats at The Corner Hotel last night. The band were keen to get back to their roots with this latest album are tour and they certainly did this with a carefree, chaotic night. More details on our website.
I’ve been eagerly awaiting RAYE’s sophomore album I’ve been eagerly awaiting RAYE’s sophomore album and I’m so glad This Music May Contain Hope turned out to be this good. The album is a journey, from darkness to light, across four seasons. It draws on wide influences including jazz, hip-hop and musical theatre and its such a wonderful, emotional and complex album. I’ll be amazed if this one isn’t on my short list for album of the year.

This is such an incredibly put together show and I’m so glad I got to see it. If she hasn’t been to your city yet I’d highly recommend getting yourself a ticket!

Seeing the iconic pulp at Sidney Myer last week wa Seeing the iconic pulp at Sidney Myer last week was such a dream come true! Boy, do that band know how to put on a show. I was worried after so much time they wouldn’t sound quite like themselves, but Jarvis was on great form - still one of the finest frontmen ever.
I struggled to summarise this one for Insta as the I struggled to summarise this one for Insta as there’s so many great things to say about Sidney’s what if if ends? The Belair Lip Bombs opened their Australian tour The Belair Lip Bombs opened their Australian tour with two sold out nights at Richmond’s iconic Corner Hotel. Image credit: @leecrawford19 Since becoming the first Aussie act to sign with Jack White’s Third Man Records back in 2024 it has been a busy 18 months for the Frankston indie rockers. A reissue of their debut album Lush Life and a 25-date North American tour supporting Spacey Jane are just a couple of the highlights, and let’s not forget the small matter of their upcoming support slots for the Foo Fighters in Melbourne and Sydney this coming November… Read the full piece on our website.
Trying to get much better at remembering to share Trying to get much better at remembering to share content here as well as on the website! Much of this page is now very focused on Aussie music but I do like to keep an ear to the ground about bands from ‘back home’ and I am really taken with this new release from @vonavella You might remember they were featured in our songs to brush your teeth to a little while ago and now the rest of that album is here! Reflecting quite a change from their debut the now five-piece band have put out this musically jaunty yet lyrically quite sombre record.
