Review: St Gerry’s

St Gerry's are finally ready to settle down in the City as their popular doughnut (donut?) food truck is joined by a more permanent home at QV.

The details…

Teaming up with Uruguayan Steak Sandwich guys El Chivi, St Gerry’s popular Greek doughnuts can now be found on the Level 1 Urban Market food court at QV (that’s the downstairs bit, not the Max Brenner bit)!

If you’ve not already tried St Gerry’s tasty loukoumades at one of Melbourne’s many food truck events then you clearly don’t know good food when it hits you in the face, because let me tell you, the smell from these babies is just amazing.

They’re not your traditional round thing with a circle in the middle, these are little bite-sized balls of doughnut goodness, topped with some of your favourite sweet things. They’re dessert donuts, not pop in a box and eat later donuts, you want them fresh and hot. You have 2 options, 4 donuts for $6 (1 flavour) or 10 donuts for $10 (2 flavours), now really you don’t need to know about the first option, because you’re going to want two flavours.

Our picks are the traditionally Aussie lamington, the nutty snickers (which tastes better than actual Snickers) and the ever insta worthy nutella and fairy floss – but really you can’t go wrong. Oh, and if you’re not a donut person they do waffles on a stick too! St Gerry’s are initially there for about 6 months, but go show your love and let them know we want them to stick around a bit longer!
