You can’t miss Claypot King: head into Box Hill Central’s south precinct food court directly off Main street and it’s right in front of you. It’s only a small corner unit but don’t let this deceive you, there is actually a huge menu available for you to choose from with options covering a range of rice, curry, noodle and soup dishes all available in multiple configurations.
With the majority of the mains being around $15 or under, you’re definitely not going to upset your wallet. Seating wise, there are a few 4 seater tables directly in front, but these can fill up fast. Luckily, you also have the rest of the food court to choose from so finding somewhere to sit shouldn’t be a problem.
After much indecision we finally ended up going for the Beef in pepper sauce sizzling noodles. Ordering was fast and straightforward and staff were helpful and pleasant, though bear in mind that this is food court dining so efficiency is the key here. Despite several other orders ahead of ours, we barely had to wait 5 minutes before our food was ready which was a pleasant surprise. As was the size of our dish, it was huge. And hot! A very generous helping of beef atop a good amount of perfectly cooked noodles, this dish would easily be a match to anyone’s lunchtime food cravings.
