The details…
El Chivi has paired up with St Gerry’s donuts to set up a (hopefully) permanent home in the downstairs food court (Urban Market) at QV. Their modest range of steak sandwiches make for a filling lunch or casual eat (but not too filling as you will want to save room for donuts!)
You’ve probably seen these guys popping up everywhere at food truck festivals, but now you can get your steak sandwich fix every day. There’s 5 options, including a vegan one, and they’re huge, with generous toppings. We had El Americano, with all your classic burger condiments on there – but this isn’t a burger, they’re accompanied with well cooked slices of tenderised scotch fillet steak.
They impressed us in a lot of ways – the size of the sandwiches for one, and the excellent cooking technique used on the steak and the quality of the meat. Even after our copious photos it was still melt in the mouth soft. They’re a little messy to eat, so probably don’t grab one and walk to your important business lunch with it, but there is seating provided so you can “dine in” which we felt was a great idea!
We think these guys and St Gerry’s are the perfect pairing, make sure you show them some love so they stick around!
