The details…
We always enjoy a visit to TGIs and for a chain restaurant their service is top notch. Staff are always passionate and enthusiastic. We were looked after by Karina on our most recent visit and we were impressed by the time taken to discuss our meal choices and ensure we are happy with each element of our dish. She regularly checked up on us throughout our visit and her cheeriness was infectious!
We were invited to try their limited edition BBQ ribs (available until March 4th) and also tried an Ultimate JD burger. As always the meat was excellently cooked. Both were generous serves – with the ribs having lots of meat. The BBQ glaze was delicious, sweet, sticky and something you’d want to drink out of the bottle. The burger was huge, with 2 patties and your usual extras. It was filling but maintained a classic taste combo. I normally get annoyed with over the top burgers as they fall apart – I have to be honest I ate the onion rings separately, but the rest of the burger held up really well. The chips were nice and crunchy, without being too oily. An enjoyable meal.
TGIs was much livelier than our last visit and was the perfect end to a day’s shopping. We were seated near the bar in a booth and I definitely prefer sitting here to the outer tables. It felt much more like restaurant and easier to forget you were in a shopping centre. I love how they maintain the iconic red seating across all their stores, but also manage to decorate every single store uniquely – I really enjoy looking round at everything on the wall. I still feel the meals are expensive, at $28.50 for the burger and $42 for the ribs it’s definitely not for the budget conscious, but it offers a fun, casual eating experience where you are consistently guaranteed a good time.
