The Overview…

Le Mille Creperie has to win the award for cutest shopping centre cafe. Situated on the walkways of Chadstone I wasn’t expecting a lot from the decor, but this place is adorable, doing its best to recreate a tearoom in its shopping centre environment.

The Details…

You order at the counter, where all the beautiful cakes are displayed for you to choose, then food is brought to your table. There’s marble table tops and bow backed pink cushions seats, and you can easily forget you’re in Chadstone. It’s small and is more designed for people eating alone or couples: You’d struggle to seat more than 4 people together I think, but it probably has about 15 seats all together.

LeMilleCreperie_20180108_0017We ordered a strawberry and a rainbow crepe cake slice with English Breakfast Tea. The presentation again is reminiscent of a tea room with fancy china cups and plates and little gold cake forks. The little touches here really do make all the difference. The cakes were surprisingly light, and we were surprised at the variation in texture and flavour between the two – I mean a crepe cake is a crepe cake right? (Clearly, I was WRONG). The strawberry one was creamy and reminded me of a Victoria Sponge but being made with crepes it was light as air. The rainbow one had a softer flavour and more of a fondant texture and sweeter taste. Either way, both were delicious and we’ll definitely be back for more! Thanks for inviting us Le Mille Creperie.
